Art

Art is essentially concerned with the way we understand and interpret the world through the senses. It allows pupils to communicate ideas, feelings and experiences, through a variety of materials, techniques and skills. It has a language of its own based on elements such as colour, shape, texture, line, pattern and form.

In Key Stage 2 pupils receive one lesson per week and in Key Stage 3 two lessons per week, Through engaging in a balanced programme of activities, pupils are enabled to develop their imagination, creativity and critical judgement. Pupils are taught to appreciate  and respond to art from a variety of times and cultures.
