Swanmead Community School aims to provide a range of sporting opportunities for all pupils with an emphasis on promoting safe physical activity and healthy lifestyles. Pupils will develop their physical competence, health related fitness, self- esteem, and enjoyment so that they can be physically active for a lifetime.
All pupils experience a minimum of 120 minutes of physical education each week (16% curriculum time). During this allocation pupils develop skills in a range of team games and dance, gymnastics and athletics. There is also a focus on Fundamentals Movement Skills, Multi-Skills as well as the National Leadership Programme. This is supported by the SSCo Programme.
